The Heart Behind the Smile

​Happy Project was born from a lifelong love of baking and, even more so, a deep love of celebrating life.  The founders of Lancaster Cupcake started their business with a passion for creating beautiful, joyful treats and making life’s special moments a little sweeter.  Alongside that passion has always been a heart for foster children and families and a desire to help them experience moments of joy, belonging, and celebration.​ 

At the heart of that desire is a love for Jesus and a belief that every child is created by God, with a unique story and a life worth celebrating.  We believe God calls us to notice those who may be overlooked, to care for families walking through difficult seasons, and to make room for joy wherever we can.  Sometimes that can look like something as simple as a cake, a card, or taking the time to celebrate someone’s life.​ 

As they built their business, the founders had hoped to one day foster children themselves.  But as life became increasingly full and busy, that dream began to look different than they had imagined.  Over time, they realized they could use what they had already built to make a far-reaching impact—bringing their love of celebrating life to vulnerable children and families throughout the community.​

Happy Project is an extension of that heart: creating opportunities to celebrate birthdays, milestones, and the simple gift of being here.  We believe these moments can be about more than a celebration.  They can be a reminder that a child is seen, that their story matters, and that their life is a gift.​  Through something as joyful as a cake, cupcake, card, or celebration, our hope is to bring a little more joy into a child's story and remind them that they are loved, they matter, and they are worth celebrating.

We are grateful to God for the opportunity to use what He has given us to love and serve children and families in our community.
